Rugged Manaic 2014

Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Volunteering and running the Rugged Maniac! Its the only race I can get Steve to also participate in. The best part, we get to volunteer to watch the runners crawl through mud and then run it ourselves.
We always end up at the same obstacle to volunteer and we are always happy about that because its our favorite. Plus, it's so easy of a job, sit or stand and watch people get wet and covered in mud. It's super entertaining.
The Commando Crawl..
Our volunteer station, waiting for runners..
Real barbed wire.. real mud and muck! Yes, it's all real!
This mud pit got even gooier as the day progressed.

Wave after wave of people poured through.. all ready to get super muddy!
Caked from head to toe in mud.
IT's a dirty job but someone had to do it..
Our photographer was super cool. He got right down in the action (mud) all day. (Guy in orange)
We had the best seats on the mountain!
I'm so glad we got a ride up to the top of the mountain. Two times running up it would have been one too many!
Our turn to run it. 1 hour, 3 minutes. Up the mountain and down 3.2 miles and 25 obstacles.
Muddy..
We will be doing this race again next year!
After the race, we always stop at the Winery down the road.

We cleaned up as best we could.. and had some wine, cheese, crackers and chocolate.
