Get Lucky 7K Race

Celina and I ran in the Get Lucky 7K this morning..

A little chilly start so we hung out inside the Mpls Depot until start time. It took forever to start running. This was our first race with millions of other people. Having only run smaller 100 to max 300 people we both agreed, we like the smaller races better. It's real running. This is run around all the walkers and people who have never really done any running.
It was fun to people watch.
We had lots of time to kill before running..
What do you know.. we were off and running, with the sun in our eyes the entire time..

We took it nice and slow. I held back and just relaxed to a nice pace where Celina could keep running the entire 4.4 miles.
It took all my will power to not want to run past all these people in front of us. There were just far too many people to separate so what ever pace Celina wanted to run, that's just what we did!

The views along the route..
I text-ed and ran even though you probably shouldn't.. but I did just fine.
 Over the Mississippi river..

I liked running on cobble stone roads.

The stone arch bridge and beautiful view of down town Minneapolis.

Official Race time.. 53.35 minutes.

Not bad for Celina's first long 7K race. We sprinted at the end and of course she out ran me with her long legs.
Our finisher metals..

I do have some not so great things to report about this race.
1. More water stops! There was only one at mile 2.
2. Water ASAP at the end of the race. We had to walk all the way back to the start to get water.
3. Too many people = lots of standing around time and going around walkers.
What I liked:
The jackets, metal and fun crowd dressed up in Green.
