Two Days in a Row!

No working today for us. The whole family is home on a Tuesday. More work was canceled so that's always a bummer. On hold once again! It would be nice to get back to normal with work, but I'm not sure that will happen till a vaccine is available. Sounds promising on the progress reported yesterday. Let's all just hope!!

Two Days in a row running at the local soccer fields. Felt good to get out and run again.

Since we have the day off, I think we will go use our fishing license. We'll go to the river to try and catch some carp or whatever is biting. It's something to do. I'm usually, not into fishing but times have changed and why not try? I still won't take a fish off the hook!

I mowed the front yard for the first time this season. We had over 4 inches of rain on Sunday, so it needed to be cut! I still have the back yard to mow and trimming to do. I'm sure that won't take me long to finish up today at some point.

I need to make more crackers and I never made that apple tart yesterday so I still need to do this for today!

No, we can't be out of this..

I looked in the pantry this morning and noticed we were out of my favorite go to breakfast! Peanut Butter nugget pretzels. Nooooooo.. So instead, I ate some of my crackers I made yesterday that turned out a bit too salty and had a lot, a lot of garlic! Wow, blow you away with the garlic and salt!

This weekend, I went back to the rental house that I take care of. Steve put in the AC units and I picked up all the frozen meat I forgot. That was our Saturday high light of things to do for the day. After we stopped at Walmart and picked up a hammock with a bug net for the summer.

Just as our front crab apple trees started blooming, it rained and all the pedals are coming down like snow. It covers my car. I switched car spots with Steve's truck because he really doesn't look like he is in a flower float parade.

The weather said rain around 7pm on Saturday and all day Sunday. The kids came with us to the Mississippi River. We sat and had some drinks while they went for a walk on the path. Guess, it's pretty with bluffs, over looks etc. Guess, we will have to take our bikes and check out the new trial to Hastings. It connects two parks, but its a very hilly area. A good bike workout!
Felt good to dig my toes into sand once again this year!

Steve and I are back at it, running around the park. Just a quick mile. My knee is still feeling like a pulled something. It hurts a little while running. It was a slow mile, 10:41 but we did it! I never regret going for a run, only when I skip it!

Today, I have just an hour of work. It's just doing some office stuff around the house for Steve. Getting Quotes printed, figuring out why some won't allow me to edit. The not so fun stuff to do, but need to be looked at.

I'm also going to make an apple tart. Steve's mother made a tart crust and I need to use it up. We also are planning on having burgers tonight on the grill so it's a trip to the store. I should have gone first thing this morning but I'm going to go after I'm done with my home, office project. I just don't like going when there are more people!

Minnesota's last day in Q#3, it ended today. Now it's Stay Safe MN, restaurants, salons and bars are still not open but will on June 1st? I'm not going to those places at all! I'm not even going to a mall if it opens! Less shopping the better! The orthodontist called and is taking appointments again. Not sure if I should let Logan go in for an adjustment? It's not like he has been wearing his bands. So no change and why risk it?

One more day!

One more day in Q#3! Did we really not go any where since this all began? Everyone seems to be out and about just like the good old days. Only, some of us wear masks and we all try to keep 6 feet apart.  We try and go to the stores early, before most people venture out. This way, it's a lot less people to dodge around. We just went to a less crowded Walmart by our house. Steve wanted a fishing license for us both to use. I'm sure fishing will be the new fun thing to do around here this summer. We just will catch and release. Found out, it's a lot of work to clean fish last summer. Unless the fish is really big and good to eat, it's going back in the water!

This was taken last spring when we did a bunch of wine and beer tasting at various breweries and wineries around MN. How I wish we could be doing that this Sunday! Of course even if they open, we will be staying home!

Saturday afternoon, we went back to the river to sit and have some drinks. The kids went for a walk on the path and we just sat and watched the river. Some people were also there, some guys with dogs going fishing in their boat and two kayaker's. It was pretty quiet for the most part, only frogs chirping and waves crashing the shoreline.

I'm going to be baking on this rain filled Sunday. These bars look so good, but I don't remember what they were and I'm sure I just got the recipe off Pinterest. I'll probably just make some crackers. I've been craving them for a week now. I didn't make any last week because work kept me semi busy with a job each day. This week, it's slower. I still have jobs every day but Tuesday. Unfortunately, I'll be done in about an hour each day. Not enough work but enough to give me something to do with my day and earn a little.

We made a splurge purchase in thoughts of camping a lot this summer. Logan last summer did a lot of hanging out in a hammock. I thought it would be fun to get one of our own. I bought one that came with everything you need to attach to the tress and one with a bug net. We call it coocoon-ing. We will try just one for now and maybe get another one if we use it. Something new to try out.
