Happy Easter 2019

Happy Easter 2019
I started my Easter morning early at 5:30 with my daily yoga, followed by planks and weights! Now I'm blogging and will go run, do some Easter baking, boiling eggs to dye, making a quiche, eclairs and cookies. Then I'm going to dye eggs with Evan, clean our house and go for a bike ride before Easter dinner at our house. I might even shower and wear a dress for tonight!
It was a 75*F April day on Saturday. Steve and I went to Mpls to try out more breweries. First stop was wild minds. They have more sour beers which I like. We snacked on popcorn, nuts and pretzels while drinking and playing cribbage.

Next stop was a German Brewery in St. Paul Where we shared this brat. I ate it with ketchup and tried their seeded mustard. I liked it, who knew!

We met Celina and Don at Red Cow for dinner. Wings and burgers! Yum.
They split the burger and fries before bringing out the food. I ate a few fries but gave most to Steve.
It was a great day to hang out outside. I had 4 drinks in total but it was over an extended time and they were smaller drinks. Ate far too many calories around 1600 I figure with snacks, drinks and dinner.

This was my last day to splurge on calories. Easter is still a diet day and I'll stick to just dinner, skip the bread and treats without any drinks!
Saturday afternoon I went on my favorite bike ride on the dirt road by our house. I'm thinking this will probably be paved over pretty soon as they are building houses.

I took a risk and purchased a bunch of flowers and herbs for our front planters. It still could freeze but since they are in pots, easy to bring inside for the night. It looks so nice with green, pink and the smell of herbs at our front door. Last year I was too lazy to actually plant them in the pots. I left the containers they came in and just placed them on top.

Noooo It's raining!!! There goes my run! I think this afternoon it's going to be nice so I can still go for a bike ride!

Wow, Goal Day #90!!

Yep, I reached another goal this morning! Day #90 on my fasting/diet! I'm sooo close to hitting day 100! I won't stop there as I want to reach week #20, I'm almost done with week #13, just one more day to go!
I tried to stay under 1000 calories and closer to 500 this week. I had a fail Friday with drinking most of my calories. I had three apple ciders when we were out last night in Hastings.
We had some amazing, very tasty pork street taco's at the Lock and Dam restaurant. We split them along with some wings which I didn't eat the skin and there were zero crunches so only the meat was consumed. We will be back for the tacos!
I was reading Bon Appetite yesterday afternoon and came across this article on Kolaches that are a local food to eat while in Texas, Austin to be exact. Next time we visit our friends, we need to check this out! I'll all about going where the locals go and trying the food of the area. These look delicious!
We went to our favorite spot by the Mississippi river, played some cribbage and I lost all card games. We even played kings in the corner and crazy 8's. I lost every game! It was not my night! I do think that I have to stop drinking after 2 drinks max. I just can't handle any more alcohol while on a diet and not eating that much. It hit me hard. Lesson learned and I'll be adjusting from now on! Bring on the water!

It's Friday!! Almost done with another dieting week!

I had this on my todo list. Make Macaroons! I took the time to sift the dry ingredients which I usually don't like to do. This recipe its a must do. I still have not perfected this cookie but it sure tasted good when I sampled them. Chocolate cookie with a peanut butter frosting middle. I made sure you could taste the peanut butter. All the cooking shows have the judges telling the contestants they can or can't taste the ingredient. I wanted to make sure the peanut butter flavor came through! I am determined to become a better baker and expand on what I know how to make.
I ate a variety yesterday on my fasting diet. I ended up having a sweet potato for lunch because I was overly hungry. I had a little of everything, a little corn, a little humas with pita chips, a few wings and a spoon of PB, and a few pretzels with PB and of course a taste of my cookies. I was around 900 calories or a bit over that for the day. I'm super close to my goal of being in the 140's. I need to stay focused and not splurge on food. I also need to get in more exercise. I only worked and didn't run or bike yesterday even though I had time to do this. I will get in a run or bike at some point today even with my busy work schedule. It's Friday and I want to be able to go out to eat tonight and need to burn off some calories I'll be indulging in.
