I needed this!

I slept in till 8:30am this morning! I sure needed the extra sleep! I hardly ever sleep in. I usually love my early mornings when the house is quiet, I can clean up the kitchen, do my yoga before anyone comes down. Not this morning, I slept as long as I could. It felt great!

Steve left to run without me, which I can't blame him. I wanted my sleep more then to run. He did try and get me up but I never heard him! So, off I went with Zoey to the park and we did our 1 mile loop. I'm going to the park and will be taking her for a walk too. I might as well try to enjoy the last snow free day! We are predicted to get up to 5" of snow tomorrow. I actually hope we do get that much! I want to ski!
I was craving Crepes! Sunday morning I made up a batch for Steve and I. My favorite use to be grape jelly, now it's always raspberry with seeds.

I was still in the baking mood, so I made up some more garlic crackers, then some caramel rolls. After 40 years of making caramel rolls, I finally figured out how bakeries make them so good! I always tried to make the caramel while baking, adding butter and brown sugar on the bottom of the pan. Most of the time, the sugar would crystalize and just be kind of hard and not great! Well, I forgot this time and made caramel on the stove top, butter, brown sugar and some cheap maple syrup and heavy cream. Cooked till boiled and all sugar was dissolved. I just poured it on top! Winner, Winner! Don't ask why this never occurred to me before! The whole plate is gone!

Count down...

It's the count down to the election night! Fingers crossed the pole predictions of a democratic landslide comes true Nov 3rd. 16 more days to go!

After I mowed/mulched the leaves in  both the front and back yard, we were looking for something to do on a Saturday night. We drove to Hastings, kind of thinking we might stop at the brewery and have a drink outside. It was chilly but not too bad. It looked crowded and then there are the new Covid numbers where its hit 1500 cases in MN, around 100+ in our county per day. So we just sat under the bridge and looked at the river for awhile before driving back home.  Once at home, we turned on the fireplace, had a IPA with wine and played some cribbage while eating hummus and pita chips for dinner. I have a feeling this will be our winter entertainment!

This morning was a chilly start but at least it's sunny! 32*F. Steve and I always try and start our day with taking Zoey on a 1 mile park run. Today, we added on an addition 1/2 mile and did a run/walk. Trying to slowly increase our miles and not go all out to bring me back to foot issues. I feel good enough to run more but I'm cautious! I'd rather be able to just run 1 mile, then go back to 6 and not be able to run again for months! So it's slow going for now.
I've been in the mood to do some baking. Might have to make some caramel rolls today. I certainly don't need them, but it sounds delicious!

Good Afternoon!

It's already Saturday afternoon. I've done quite a bit this morning. Steve and I went for our normal morning 1 mile run with Zoey. Zoey for some reason isn't crying and barking like crazy on the short 2 mile drive to the park. Not sue why, but we are happy with the change! After our run, we both headed out to work. We both postponed some work Friday due to the snow and pushed it off to Saturday morning.

We were all pretty bored Friday afternoon and into the night. Steve and I were both done working around 2pm and we didn't do much of anything the rest of the day or night. We've both been feeling kind of blah. There is so much we could do, but we just don't want to. So, we had 2 beers while playing 1 round of cribbage than me making Chicken Lettuce wraps for dinner. After dinner, we watched some TV, I watched a movie till midnight then finally went to bed, still not tired.

I probably should mow the law to mulch up all the leaves. Our front yard is completely covered. I'm just not feeling it. Steve's working still today and then he is dropping off the boat to be stored for the winter. We have sooo many home projects but we just never feel like getting around to it. I need to write a todo list and break it down to smaller projects just to get a start on some up keep.
I'm thinking of getting a light similar to this one for our front entry. It's pretty simple and plain which is probably what we need.

Flooring, I'm considering for our main level.
Some shower shelf decorative tiles?

Shower subway tiles?

Shower floor tiles?

I didn't exactly have the right foot wear for snow! Good thing the snow didn't stick around!

Snow and ice pelting down Friday morning! So not ready for this SNOW weather!

I can't wait till the carpet in the porch is gone!! Along with the golden honey wood floor! I'd love to get rid of our piano but Steve has to keep it. This is why we are having trouble getting rid of stuff we no longer use!
