Changes to get results.. Stop wishing and START Doing!

My birthday is a little over 30 days away and there are a few things I want and I have to make changes to get results:

I want...

- A six pack
- Tone arms
- Run 26.2 miles
- To be a triathlete
- Eat Healthy 95% of the time
- Go sugar/junk free
- 2x's a day exerciser
- Maintain 135 weight. (need to drop some pounds)

I'm going to STOP wishing... and start doing what is on my list. I need a plan. I know it's going to be hard and I will have set backs. I need BIG goals as I'm not getting any younger.

What's my plan to accomplish all these changes? One day at a time.. Post my goals and read them every day and before every meal or snack I eat.

Schedule workouts 1. Morning, 2) afternoon/evening

Sign up for a Triathalon (just pay the money and do it)

Start running longer distances, split up my running to add on miles during the day.

Stop wishing I would lose a few pounds. I need to get strong, think before I eat, make healthy choices, eliminate sugar from my diet.

Keep doing core exercises to get that 6-pack, weights 6 days a week. Full body to tone up all over.

I'm starting today. No need to wait for a Monday or getting back from a vacation, or wait till the beginning of the month. Right now when I'm motivated to make changes.. Tough changes.. I've GOT THIS!!!
Look out 46 because your going to look and feel GREAT!

You have to look Out!

I haven't ridden our tri-road bike since last fall. I biked up to the gym and figured might as well take this bike since its all paved roads. I did forget how to ride.. The shifting is completely different from the mountain bike which took my entire ride to figure out. I had to keep changing the gears. This bike kind of scares me. It goes fast, really fast and I wasn't ready to go lightening speed until I feel more comfortable. This bike also isn't like the mountain bike, you feel every little bump. It's like riding a brick, no bounce, which also takes some getting use to. I took it nice and slow.. plus those cages for the feet. I really do need clip-less pedals and shoes.
Got to the gym.. did my normal whole body resistance/strength training for 30 minutes. Steve rode up a bit later and I met him outside at the bike rack. He said some guy got hit on his bike coming out of our neighborhood. They had to call an ambulance. I caught the end of all the accident as the police car, a few people and a car being towed away was still at the accident site. Kind of made me wish I had my other mountain bike on the ride home. It really freaked me out thinking about the risk you take riding along traffic. People just don't pay attention and You have to look out at all times to make sure the person in the car can see you. I try and make eye contact and would rather slow way down then try to zip on by when I see a car approach. Going fast for a speedy time doesn't matter if you get hurt by a car or killed.
We are trying to figure out what really happened at the accident site. I bike and run by that very spot the guy got hit. Really shakes you up when its so close to home, on your regular route.
On a lighter note.. yesterday was Evan day.. Celina helps so much with Evan and so does Logan. We all have so much fun playing with this little guy. He is full of energy and is now a little wiggle worm.. getting all over the place.

oVeR Sleeping

I can't believe I over slept this morning. I had been tossing and turning all last night. Gee do you think I've had enough soccer that now I'm dreaming about playing it in my head all night long! Wish dreaming about it would also burn calories, but it doesn't.

Due to once again time limitations.. (reason I wanted to get up early and get going) it was a bike to the gym and lift weights. I decided I could either 1) run for 40 minutes and call it a day or 2) bike for 30 minutes and lift weights for another 30 minutes getting in an extra 10 minutes and still getting cardio.
It was an option #2 day. Bike and Weights. My plan is always to get in 3 days of weights. I need to not only tone my heart but my whole body. I realized, it's also time to start spending more minutes working out. 30 minutes goes by way too fast and I hardly have time to do any extra weights that I'd like to start adding in the rotation. I just need to plan, plan and NOT over sleep!

Biking was a short 7.48 miles done in 31 minutes with stopping at the light 2x's. I was trying to bike fast but mountain bikes are only so speedy.. I really should have taken the tri bike.. maybe I still can take it out for a spin close to home. Still scared to have a flat.
Sunday was another really hot day and we decided the best way to spend it was on the water, boating!
We just went to a near by like in Cannon Falls.. Not enough time to go to the St. Croix river and we figured it would be too busy with boaters.
We stopped in the middle of the lake to fish and let the kids swim off the back of the boat.
We had a pretty relaxing time out there on the boat.
After a few hours out on the lake.. it was time to head home..and start making dinner.

I made the mac & cheese and Steve made the buffalo chicken, carrot salad and then we had bread with blue cheese. I'm starting to like blue cheese.. my taste buds are changing.
We had a really nice evening so we sat out on the deck and played cribbage with a glass of healthy red wine.
