Summer, what's not to like!

I ate my lunch outside yesterday and as soon as I sat down, tiny black bugs were flying all around my face. It's not the ones that bite you but want to fly in your mouth and up your nose. Not very pleasant. I think it's time to get the tent with screen up on our deck. It won't be much fun eating outside with all these bugs! It's the only thing I don't like about summer!

I didn't get to bike yesterday afternoon. I stayed home in case Steve needed any help with the kitchen sink install. It was not a easy and we questioned why we decided to go with a larger sink. It didn't fit the hole we had for our last sink. Steve had to grind away at the edge of the sink to make more room for the sink to fit. It created tons of dust every where. That's the problem with home projects, before it looks better, you have to make a huge mess! I just don't like the mess part. Even though the hole to fit the sink was made larger, the sink fanned out and still didn't fit, so he had to cut away at the sides of the cabinet. More work and then the sink hook ups were not in the same spot. A trip to Home Depot for parts and then no plumber glue. Ugh! Still don't have a working sink but at least its in the spot and I can kind of clean up the dust around it.
Another issue, we noticed it only had one hole, for the facet. Not the soap dispenser. Ugh!!!! NOOOOOOOO. So we are not going to have a soap dispenser. Oh well, do they ever work anyway? I know our last one broke right away and we just never fixed it.  I do like the new look. I just hope the stainless sink doesn't show every finger print and markings. I hate that on refrigerators. I would have liked to change out our counter top but that was not something Steve was willing to do at this time. Future, yes!!
I work for a few hours this morning and have a bike ride to the bank on my todo list this afternoon. It's going to be 85*F, so I think I need to go to the pool! My daughter has a community pool and we have the fab key to share the pool. I didn't go at all last year but that sounds like a good pit stop on my half way home from biking to the bank.

Exercise Equals HUNGRY!

It's much easier to fast diet when not exercising a whole lot. I was HUNGRY yesterday and needed food. I'm still hungry this morning which I'm hardly ever hungry first thing in the morning, but that's two days in a row now.

I have been biking more miles around 14 each day. Plus working which burns the calories. I started off eating healthy, made some pan roasted peppers and a sweet potato, then had some popcorn, a tiny taste of peanut butter. We went out to dinner at Noodles so we shared some pot stickers and I had the Japanese noodles. In all I was around 2000 calories give or take because dinner was at least 1000 calories with the small slice of pie and ice cream I ate which was leftovers from our Sunday night BBQ. Sometimes you have to have a treat! I've been not losing weight and I still want to lose at least 5 more pounds. Not sure why the last few pounds always is the hardest to lose. I'll just keep biking every day, trying to eat less and that's about all I can do right now.
I still do daily yoga, followed by my planks and dumb bell weights. That has to happen every morning for my day to start off right. It's just a relaxing way to start the day. Looks like another nice day to bike ride. Looking forward to my work day being done early! Tonight, I'll have to work again with Steve for an hour. It's easy work and something to do in the evening after all my exercise I usually need a lot of down time. Work gives us something to do and get out of the house with a destination.
Yep, still waiting till Steve installs our new sink. The dishes are starting to pile up!

Tuesday.. Can the week be over!

I'm not sure why I want to be done with the week. The weather is nice, I don't have a busy day but I want the week over and get to the weekend. We don't have any special plans for the weekend. I should just want to enjoy all the 80*F sunny weather and want to slow down my days. I think I just want Saturday, to get up and bike and get some more home projects done! That's what I really want to speed up!
After working from 9am to 2:30pm, a long, busy work day for me. I decided to bike up to Cub/the bank. It's almost a 14 mile bike ride. It was windy and hot with lots of traffic. I was thirsty, but didn't get anything to drink. Talk about low energy! I was happy the wind was at my back on the way home. Glad I just went for a ride but before dinner I fell asleep on the couch.
My favorite dirt road is closed for who knows how long. I think they are going to tar the road. Right now half the road is torn up and they are going to be putting in a large pipe. So, until that dirt road is open, I'll just be biking to the bank and home again on the flat dirt road. Its farther then my 35 minute route  but I get in more of a work out, took me over an hour to ride to the store.
I came home from my  bike ride to find Steve took out our old kitchen sink. Last night we went to Menards to get a new sink and the one we decided on was special order! Ugh, it would not arrive till June 26th! I can wait that long to get a kitchen sink! So off we went to Home Depot then Lowe's. We were in luck Lowe's had one sink left, exactly the sink we would have ordered at Menards and it was there in stock! Same price too! Only bummer part is that we had Menards rebate money that would have paid for the sink!

There is the new sink and it doesn't fit in the hole. Steve will have to grind down about a half inch for the sink to fit.

I took a long time looking at faucets. This one is the winner. Completely different from any thing I ever thought I would choose. I just hope I like it! Lets just hope the soap dispenser works on this one. Our last sink it was always broken.

I'm not sure Steve will have a chance to replace this light above our stairs this weekend too. The new light is waiting and I want this one GONE!
There's the new light.. waiting in the box! Our other projects will be to re-do the kids bathroom. Take out the tub and put in a tile shower with door. Maybe re-tile the floor since the shower will be updated. Then we are re-doing the master bathroom. Little by little our house is transforming once again!
