Change of plans!

I was going to the lake today but the weather didn't want me to go anywhere. According to today's weather report, there could be strong storms. Camping, and strong storms do not mix! No thank you, I will just stay home. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow and just come home early on Friday. I do work Friday but can start at noon or 1pm. Or the other option is just to go for the day, which is 4+ hours spent driving. Not exactly a fun way to spend most of the day!
Since my plans are changed for the day, what am I going to do? It's starting out pretty lazy, on the couch, yoga, and internet looking at puppies. Yes, I'm tempted to get a cocker spaniel puppy but not for $2K! Where's the $600 - $800 price?

I do have a bike ride on my todo list and more painting of the bathroom vanities. I am at the enamel stage, so almost done with another paint job! I'll have to take some photos!

We are still planning a trip up to the North Shore at some point this summer. I keep looking at the extended forecast and it's always rain every day. I'm not going to camp in rain! I do like seeing 79+F temps because it can be chilly by the Lake Superior. We aren't sure if the kids will join us. This year, we are not eating out, not going to town. It will be mostly spent in the woods, hiking, biking, kayaking and just camping. No way to shower or go swim in the pool at the local resort and eating at restaurants and shopping is out. We can't even go to Black Bear Casino and spend the night. We always stop half way, do a little gambling, eat at the buffet. Now that's not going to happen! At least there is plenty to do outdoors. There are things we can do, picnic, take restaurant food to go, stop at the brewery and get that to go. Pick up Fudge. Plus, all the outdoor activities. It will be fine as long as the weather is good! Maybe even better with more outdoor places to explore! There is always something we have yet to do on the north shore!

  1. Did you get strong storms? That sounds like a fun and safe trip to the North Shore.

  2. Yes, the lake had storms and a tornado just north of our lake property. Unfortunately, one person died.
