I'll do it later.

I'll do it later sometimes turns into it's not going to happen. I'm trying to go running later on this afternoon. You know I'm a morning exerciser. This might be more difficult then I think. Why  am I waiting to run? Celina asked to go run with me outside. She likes the gym to run but for some reason wants to run outdoors. I have yet another busy short work week due to the 4th of July holiday. Working earlier messes with my workout time. Plus, I need to use most my energy for working and any after for running. I don't want to be exhausted before my work day even starts.
We have a ton more strawberries to eat up. I've got big plans to make a strawberry pie. My favorite pie of all times. This is why I must run this afternoon. All to eat, guilt free .. the pie!
My 5.66 mile run times from Monday morning. Easy pace and I didn't spend any time looking at my Garmin for pace. I stopped one time, mile 2 for water. I wish my toes would stop hurting after 5 miles of running. I still can't figure out why they are causing me trouble. I need to start running 8 miles to train for the half marathon Aug 1st. Will my feet make it 13.2 miles? I'm more worried about my toes then my running.. I can do the miles but what about my toe pain?
I'm already having vacation blues.. Wishing we were still in Duluth having fun. Good thing I can look forward to the 4th long weekend..

One Day is better then nothing.

It was a soccer Duluth Vacation weekend. I wasn't able to sleep in since I'm use to getting up at 4 or 5am each morning. Everyone else was sleeping, so off to the fitness gym. I didn't bring my running shoes thinking I'd never get a chance. It felt kind of weird to wear flip flops but no one was in there so I had the place to myself.
Just laying on the gym mat doing my morning yoga stretching, planks and daily exercises.

4 miles on the stationary bike. I didn't want to get super sweaty. There was no time to take another shower with having to share one bathroom. One day out of the weekend exercising was better then nothing!
Three games this weekend of soccer for the boys in Duluth. We all had a fun time as a team.
The boys got some team bonding time with hanging out in the restaurants, pool and lake.

Minimum.. that's all!

I've been doing the bare minimum this week. 30 minutes of exercise each day at least and its been tough! I had a super busy work week combined with running kids to activities, and the humidity. Humidity is a killer. It zaps my energy and every step I take is painful. It never felt easy, which is why I quit after the minimum of 3 miles in 30 minutes. This was going to be my day to run at least 6 miles and maybe more. I think not! Not feeling the running love. I did what I had to and that has to be enough.
I'll be regretting my decision to not run 6 miles but my legs will thank me for not trying it today. I just don't feel energetic.
A sweaty mess even after my 3 miles. I should get out there earlier and run before the heat takes over. I just am now into that relaxed mode of delay, delay and more delaying to get out and get my run done.
Thursday miles 4.27 Average pace 10:04.. Friday (today) 2.83 miles, Avg pace 9:50.
Last night watching Logan's team play soccer. A beautiful night to be outside relaxing. It was a tense game, evenly matched and tied 2 to 2. Logan just missed scoring a goal, as it hit the goal post. More soccer this weekend. A ton of it.
Happy Friday.

I lost everything

I've lost my keys, phone, flip flops, money and clothes and my train of thought, the last couple of days. Lucky for me, I was able to find everything but not with out a lot of back tracking to figure out where to locate my missing items.
I usually put things back exactly where they belong so next time I need it, it's right where it should be. I think I was overly distracted this week by my busy schedule. Glad I am done.. and its easy from here on out. No work on Friday and that means I can get in at least 6 miles and maybe bike or run a few extra miles. I still have some driving around town to drop off and pick up my kids from various activities, but it will be a lot less stressful with out having to fit in working
too!
Logan talked me into eating a slice of fruit tart with just a touch of whip cream this morning for breakfast. It's all the food groups minus the protein. I just told him all we need is some slivered almonds and we'd have our protein. Delicious breakfast by the way!
Steve's mom dropped of crepe batter. I had no choice but to make crepes for dinner last night. She also had way too many strawberries.
I just like them plain, no sugar.
I'm sure crepes would be good with strawberries and whip cream too but I prefer mine with raspberry jelly. No, I didn't try doing a plank before I ate the crepe for dinner. I should have, but completely forgot! I just need to write it down on a piece of paper as a reminder to make this a new habit.

What if I tried this before eating any crap!

What if I did a plank every time I wanted to eat some non-healthy foods? Would it help to make better choices? I'd like to try this out today. It might stop me if I have to do a one minute plank every time I wanted to eat some junk? If it doesn't stop me at least I'll have done a little more strength training which is better then eating it and laying on the couch.
I got up at 4am and now two hours later, I could go back to sleep. Might have to try out that idea.
Tuesday morning run times for my 5.68 miles at an easy pace. Four times around our neighborhood loop with stopping one time for a water break after 1.4miles.

Going Longer!

I had my every three week lash extension appointment last night. I asked to go a bit longer on the lash length for the next time, in three weeks. I don't want to be that person who doesn't know when to stop. I do want slightly longer lashes. It's kind of like when your tan and don't think your tan enough and soon you start looking like that Tan Mom that was all over the news. I don't want to be the tan mom of the eye lashes. That being said, I'm going longer and I'll never give up my addiction to longer, fuller lashes, EVER!
Now to start going longer on my running. I need to start doing that long run to prepare my feet for the half marathon on August 1st. A little over 30 days away..

Monday with Evan.. my favorite little guy!
I should have brought him to the splash park but he decided to nap instead, me too! We just played around the house and outside.. he loves bubbles!
I have 6 miles to run this morning, followed by a full day of working. Its time to get moving! Happy Tuesday!

Happy Father's Day and just say No to Duck lips

Happy Father's Day.

Out past 1am and up at 5:30am.. hum. Not sure how I'll feel this afternoon. It's looking like a napping kind of day. Steve and I went out to dinner last night then meet up with another soccer mom/dad and neighbor friends for drinks and dancing. A fun but late night out. If someone asks you to make duck lips, just say NO. I have zero good photos to post because it looks like we both sucked on something very sour. Not a good look. Just say No.

When I start a diet, that's the day I just want to eat!

Starting Monday, yes I will diet. 100% on board with losing weight. 10am,, I sure am hungry, 11 am.. I'm still hungry after eating that pizza. 12 that Greek yogurt didn't fill me up and there is still 2 slices of leftover pizza.
Now you know why I am having trouble sticking to a diet when I just want to eat.
If I'm going to lose weight, it's important to burn off calories and the most possible. What better way to burn then to run. I tried to out run the morning storm but that only lasted 15 minutes.
I planned to run my safe 1.4 mile close to home loop. At any point during my run, there is always a short cut to make a mad dash for home. At the half way point, I saw a huge streak of lighting go all across the sky. Okay, time to hustle home and fast! That was it.. all 1.2 miles of running. You just can't out run a storm and I wasn't going to run in unsafe conditions.
No time to do any other running since I'm watching Evan today. He was busy pretend cooking this morning by making a cereal and fruit breakfast.
We had quite the morning.. Soccer for Logan was canceled due to the rain flooding the fields. Celina had to skip her advanced math class for a doctor appointment. She had an allergic reaction yesterday while at the park. Her eyes started to itch, got really red, throat itched and was scratchy and under her eyes puffed out. We think she is allergic to grass and when she rubbed her eyes it made it worse plus, had sunscreen on her hands so they both irritated her eyes. Hopefully, the swelling and red eyes will be gone for tomorrow?

I'll tell you all about it later.

Up bright and early 4am.. I have my coach info training session this morning. 4 hours of learning to coach in-house soccer for boys 6th grade to 9th.

Here is our schedule.. with a thunder storm thrown in there. Not sure how the outdoor part will work in the rain/thunderstorm?
Class room with coaches - 2 hours
Field with kids - 1 hour
field with only coaches - 1 hour
I am all packed for the day and ready to go. While I'm happy there is coaching help for the first time this year, did I want to spend 4 hours on this task? I'm just not sure? The only thing I really want to know is the number of kids on the field and some drills to keep the kids busy. Maybe some advice on sub in's. That's about it and I'm good to go.

I think Evan will be the next soccer player. I'll have more opportunities to use this coaching experience in a few years when Evan starts playing.

I can now tell you all about my  soccer coach training. Did you know 80% of coaches have Zero coach training? Now I'm in the 20% with training and a certificate to prove it.

I also received a shirt plus a large bag of all the soccer equipment I'll need to coach. Over all it was a good but long learning experience. The best part was the last hour of training which covered games to play/demo of them with the ages I'll have to coach.
Starting the 2nd week of July, I'll be out on the field being the soccer coach for the first time. How fun and a ton of work but I'm up for the challenge.

Moving on to all things running related. I have yet to run today. I was starving by the time I got home from training and now my stomach is full of rice. I'll have to wait a bit longer to run. While I'm waiting to digest, I get to look over my mile times from Friday mornings 6 miles.
I made some Chocolate Chip cookies and have left over dough to bake up another batch. I love hot right out of the oven cookies.

Lets just relax...

I had a very busy work day on Thursday. I didn't run in the morning knowing it was going to be physically exhausting. Celina wanted to go to the pool so why not just relax and take it easy in the afternoon. Sure I could have ran but I opted to take the easy way out.

I attempted to eat healthy all day. I did my usual ice cream at night. Still need to replace that with a healthy evening snack.. still a work in progress.

I haven't seen this little person in over a week. I'm really looking forward to Monday and maybe taking him to a splash park.

You know it was a good nap when you wake up drooling

I'm a terrible night sleeper. I'm up most of the night and finally give up around 4am most mornings. This is why I crave an afternoon nap. You could say by taking an afternoon nap its causing me to be up all night but it's just not true. With or without a nap I will be up all night long tossing and turning.
I had such a great afternoon nap. I didn't move the entire hour which felt great when I woke up. I felt refreshed. I felt so good, Celina and I went to the gym. I lifted weights while she ran and then I had time to bike 2 miles.
I felt good after lifting weight and biking so what better thing to do then to run again and finish up my 6 miles for the day. I ran 3 miles in the morning since that was all I had time for. I like to waste a lot of time in the morning stretching and doing my daily exercises.. and with starting work early, this was all I had time to do.
It's National Veggie day. I made rice and Steve cooked up all the veggies. Plus, I sampled a little maple sausage.
\
Time to put my feet up and relax until tomorrow and I start all over. A busy work day and wanting to run..
