The weekend and what we did

We said our goodbyes to Annie last night at a BBQ dinner at our house. She leaves to go home to France on Tuesday.

I'm still running, just keeping it at three miles.
It felt good to run in the misty rain Sunday morning.

Steve and I tried a new Minneapolis Restaurant down by the river on Saturday night.
We shared a pizza and taco's. Probably the best food I've had in a long time.

The kids and I checked out the Eagan Art Fair on Saturday morning. It's always the same type of craft stuff, over priced and a lot of the same stuff.

Caught

This morning, I quickly went on a 1.5 mile run. I was done in 15 minutes, then Celina joined me for an eight mile bike ride. We got caught in the rain this morning while a little over half way home. It made for a very wet ride! We were drenched.

I made another new cookie from Pinterest. This one is oatmeal-coconut. It was good too, I just need to add raisins, chocolate chips maybe nuts or some dried fruit.

I'm still on my diet, Day 82. I'm kind of stuck right now at not really losing weight. I really have no idea if I am or not, but if I am losing weight its not enough to drop inches on my body. I can tell my clothes are fitting a lot looser. It must be working to just cut back on calories. I've been trying to stay around 1000 - 1500 each day and surprise, surprise its been pretty easy to do. The only reason its been easy is because I really like what I eat every day. I am loving my whole wheat bread with honey PB and chunky Pb, then for a snack I'll have a banana, raspberries, blueberries and watermelon. I also eat lots of low cal popcorn either sea salt or white cheese. Dinner and some lunches I have my spicy tortilla soup and a baked in the oven sweet potato. I cook up the soup and sweet potatoes ahead of time so all I have to do is warm them up when I'm hungry. When I'm hungry for something sweet, I'll have a small tablespoon of my honey peanut butter or a strawberry Greek yogurt with some fruit. I can eat a lot and still be around 1500 calories or less for the day.

I try to take an hour nap each day or at least a 30 minute power nap. I get up super early so I need some afternoon sleep.

I have been burning around 1000 calories per day with biking, running and working. I keep thinking I need to add in some afternoon or evening biking/running or tennis. I'm slowly getting there. I just need to get more motivated. I'm so not an afternoon-evening person. If it doesn't happen in the morning exercise, work, cleaning our house, then its not going to happen later on.

This is how Zoey and I spend our afternoons, on the couch just
relaxing.

Out doors kind of weekend

I spent the entire weekend outside on a soccer field. Logan was in a soccer tournament down in Rochester MN. He had four games, two on Saturday and another two on Sunday. It was a lot of soccer in one weekend.

I didn't take many photos but for the most part, we had good soccer weather. It was hot on Saturday but the cloud cover made it better. Sunday was a lot cooler which again was better for soccer playing then the hot heat. We had over six hours to burn up before the next game on Saturday so we spent most of the day at the local park hanging out with the team.
A few father's day photos from after soccer and at dinner.
We ate out again for dinner Sunday night. Steve wanted to go to Outback. We haven't been to that restaurant in over 10 years. We were surprised at the good service and really good food. We will be back again a lot sooner then waiting another 10 years to go by.
Friday afternoon, Steve and I took the kayaks out on a local river to test it out.

Playing Catch UP

Where do I start. Maybe with what I did this morning. Steve and I went for a quick 10 mile bike ride and stopped at a new cafĂ© in town.

We both tried a pastry and they needed to be cooked more. Lets just say, we wont be back. It wasn't very good.

We had perfect weather last night to be sitting outside watching Logan's soccer game. He is on a scoring roll the last two games he scored right away in the game and scored twice each game. Way to go Logan!!!

I came home from work yesterday to find the kids in the kitchen making their own version of banana bread.

Monday afternoon we took the boat out for the first time this season. It was nice being on the St. Croix with less boats during the week then the weekends. We just went to the Island, hung out in the water for a bit then picked up Steve's parents and Aunt that's visiting from France. We took the boat to Huston and ate in town.

Celina wanted to do my makeup on Monday night. I need to have her do it more often.
Monday we took Steve's Aunt, Annie to the MOA to shop for five hours! We shopped, had lunch and of course had to share an Aunt Annie Pretzel.

Getting a workout before the STORM!

I checked the weather report the night before. Thankfully, I paid attention because we are in for some severe storms this morning around 9:30am. I got out at 6am, went for a 1.5 mile run then decided if I was going to bike, I'd better do it now! I cut my bike route short and went for 8 miles. Since it still looked okay outside, I finished another 1.5 mile run and was Done for the day!

We have morning plans to go get Glam Doll donuts but will wait out the storm before we head out. I needed to get in a workout  before having those high calorie treats. Day #71 of my diet. I ate far too much last night to stick with a low calorie plan for the day. I at least got in a lot of exercise with running thee miles and biking 14 miles. I have to get back to eating less!

and here comes the morning storm...

It's 9am and pitch black outside. Feels like night time. I am hoping the storm rolls through quickly so we can get out for our morning donuts!

St. Croix Boat Cruise

Last night we went on a boat cruise on the St. Croix River boat. We were lucky to get the last seats as the boat was full!

Last day of school for the kids

Last day of school, Celina's last day in 11th grade

Logan's last day of 8th grade and finished with middle school

Zoey watching the kids go off to school on the last day.

While the kids were at school, I went for a 1.5 mile run then an 11 mile bike ride. I didn't have time to rest because I was off to work.
