Reality and day 3 of fasting

On day #3 of my fasting diet, I decided it's time to know my exact weight. I start off just guessing because I really don't want to know how much I need to lose on day 1. So not sure if I lost any weight or not because I'm starting fresh with my exact weight. I care more about my measurements going down and that I did, on day 1.  I still need to lose 20 to 30 pounds.

Day 2 was not that difficult to stay focused on losing weight. I didn't work out of the house but I did have to work at home. Doing our tax prep work. All that data entry I leave for the end of the year. I finally finished up all I could do till I get more tax information in the mail. I'll submit the final report to our accountant next week. Feels good to get that done! It also kept my mind and fingers busy so I didn't think too much about eating.

I had the rest of my veggie soup for dinner.  I had at least 2 cups. I was still hungry and cold from skiing and hour/5miles, so I made a low 25 calorie hot chocolate and then I finished the bag 4cups of lite kettle popcorn (120 per serving and I went over by 1 cup). Popcorn did the trick to keep me satisfied. I'll have to go back to my 35 per cup popcorn.

Since I'm out of soup for today. My meal tonight is a sweet potato. I'm going to roast a few in the oven and have them ready to eat at 5pm. I'm also going to make sure I have some low cal popcorn on hand and measure out exactly what I eat. Or just only have a small bowl in a 2 or 3 cup serving bowl.

Exercise is going good. I have been cross country skiing for over an hour each day, burning more than 500 calories. I work today so I'll burn at least 500 calories just moving around and than I have skiing in the afternoon once again. I'll take a little 100mg caffeine to pep me up. I didn't do any caffeine yesterday afternoon and I was dragging a bit. Plus, it helps burn calories. I don't do coffee or pop so I need a little boost.

I was pretty disappointed on my morning weight. I underestimated my weight by 10 pounds. Easy to do. It could have been worse or better but knowing what I have to lose is certainly a summer motivator to get the weight off! I just feel a lot better today than I did two days ago.

If I lose at least 1 to 2 pounds a week in 17 weeks I will have lost enough to reach my goal weight.

Transformation here we go!!!

I made it through the first day of fasting. It's always the hardest, but the day where I'm most motivated to start my weight loss transformation. It really is a mind game!!

My fasting diet worked last winter. I lost lots of inches, I think at least 7" on my waist. I know the diet works to lose weight, but with summer, eating and drinking I went off my fasting diet. Gained back all the weight the last 7 months. I know what not to do this time around. I have to stick with my fasting and check in with my weight at least once a week to stay on track. Plus, exercise to keep the weight off.

My photo's from my cell are not loading to where I can attach in this blog. I'll just post some photos that I have already and try to figure out what's wrong with my photo situation!

Summer photo when I was at my max weight loss. I think it was at least 20 pounds. I could go back through my records which I plan to do. I do know it was about a pound a week I was losing and I was dieting /fasting for at least 20 weeks.

This is how my diet goes. It's not for everyone, but this works for me. One meal a day. I have the easiest time eating one controlled meal at the end of the day around 4 to 6pm. This way, I stay low on calories. I also try to eat low cal foods, like my veggie soup, which I made myself. I also eat canned soups, so I know the exact calories. The canned soups just have a lot of salt!

This was my dinner meal on day 1. I used a smaller bowl for about 2 cups of veggie soup. Steve made some roasted broccoli with garlic powder, and pepper sprinkled on top. I had about 2 cups. That was it along with lots and lots of water! I do love my water!

What did I do for exercise? I went cross country skiing for an hour, 5 miles and burned around 500 calories. I skipped my planks and weights which I need to start doing every morning! I have yet to do that but it's on my todo list for today,

What do I do about going out to eat? I am actually going out to eat tonight at Punch Pizza. While on this diet since I eat one time a day, I can eat what ever I want. I do try to keep it low calorie most of the days. I did pre-check the menu but the calories were not listed. I am going to just get a salad with a vinaigrette dressing. I know creamy dressings are a lot more calories and right now, I just want to stay at low cal as possible and still go out to eat. Will I have pizza? I might try a skinny slice. It's not about depriving myself and a punishment to lose weight. I'm still going to have weekend drinks, just one not two or three.

I do start to crave super healthy foods one I start only eating one meal. It's not like you crave donuts when you limit what you are eating for the day.

I'm not a huge breakfast eater so skipping breakfast is no big deal. Lunch gets a little harder and after dinner, I'm sometimes wanting popcorn, or ice cream. This too shall pass and I won't feel the need to want a snack. It's more boredom from sitting in front of TV. I probably should do more planks and yoga in the evening to reconnect with my fasting goals.

In all day 1 went just fine, not crazy difficult and now I'm on day 2. A tiny bit hungry this morning but I have plenty to keep me busy. I'm off work today as my customer canceled this morning. I have plenty to do, clean my house, laundry, finish my data entry of taxes, go ski, and out to dinner tonight. A full day lined up!

It's the START!!

Day 1 is here! The start of my fasting diet. I fast till 4 or 5pm each day. I am eating a low calorie dinner. My plan is to fast for 17 weeks, January 1 week, Feb, March, April and May 4 weeks each. With a goal of losing at least a pound a week for 17 pound weight loss for summer! It won't be easy but I lost weight last winter doing the same diet. I can do it again. Starting off with my approximate weight, measurements: hips, waist, thighs, arms and % body fat. I'll take my measurements weekly to record my progress.

Lazy winter days

Yep, I've been super lazy. I get home from work around noon and I do zero the rest of the day. Well, I watch a lot of TV and just rest. Does that count for doing something? Sometimes you just need down time. I've needed a lot lately and it doesn't make me happy.

It's too cold outside!

It's 1 degrees outside today. Far too cold to do much of anything!! We have 6" of fresh snow and it's just too darn cold to go cross country skiing! Plus, I am working this Sunday for half the day. Got to pay off the Christmas bills! I'm paying it all off tomorrow! Thankfully, we usually pay for all as we go but I did end up charging a little this year. My goal was to pay off anything we charged and not pay any fees. So far so good! Zero credit card balances are the way to go!
I've been trying to use snapchat for easy healthy meal making. One down and more to follow. I'm not a cook but I do like finding simple, low calorie meals to make and have for my lunches.
I do need to make this veggie chili soup again. It was so quick to put everything in the crock pot and let it cook, ready to eat in 4 to 6 hours!

I'm still hooked on peanut butter. Now I just eat these pretzel PB nuggets. 10 is 150 calories so I count out the exact amount. Sometimes I go back in for 5 more or other days I share my 10 with the dog. Zoey kind of loves them too and sits there while I eat, waiting for me to give her one.

Can you believe my granddaughter
Madelyn is 2 months old now!
I am loving the fresh snow. It's going to warm up this week back into the 30's. I just hope it doesn't start melting and then freezing making the ski trails a sheet of ice. While I haven't been running much , I still like to ski. Spring is biking season and I'll get back into running once the roads are clear of ice!
It's also time to start dieting again. I had a lot of weight loss success with fasting through breakfast and lunch. Eating a low calorie dinner and not snacking. I'll have to do this diet again! I'm getting my mind set on fasting so I'm not starting till Monday next week. I have an easy work week, I can get in exercise, my taxes will be done so I can get back into painting and doing our house projects to stay busy. Plus, I need time to get focused on the next months of sticking with weight loss. Its slow going but by spring, I'll have lost at least 10 to 20 pounds!

It's a New Thing

I have not been blogging as much because my new thing is Snap Chat Stories. Follow me on Lorraine3168 on Snap chat for daily and multiple short stories. I post my exercise, food, where we go  out, my dog, other animals and just about anything I want to share in quick short stories.

I posted a veggie soup recipe this week and will continue to post healthy meals with some break downs on cost per meal. I usually buy the ingredients, make it and will post quick snips of my meals and recipes. It's also a window on my life, just living and making the most out of each day!

I'm trying to get back on track to eat healthy, do more things I enjoy, keep busy in the afternoons, check out new places to eat/drink around cities, travel, workout and get home projects done. I'm sharing it all on snap chat and a little on this blog. I'm better at Snapping now than blogging all the more reason to follow along and get snapchat on your cell.

2020 Goals???

Do I have any goals for 2020? I have more todo house projects and wants than goals for the year!

House project list? Pretty much finish what I never did in 2019, which includes painting the remaining 11 doors (closet, bedroom and bathroom doors upstairs) all were started and have the primer on, I just need the finishing coats of white enamel paint.

We also really, really need to finish our basement. We have been in a holding pattern for years, maybe 15 now? The trim needs to be put around the windows, grout on the floor and finish the stone on the fireplace and get a couch with a big TV ( or put the 65" TV in our porch down there and get a new one for upstairs).

I also want to repaint the basement in a light gray, covering up the yellow wall paint. We want to have a roaring 20's dinner party and I must have these house projects done before we can have our neighbor friends over!

There are more house projects, like get rid of the kids bathroom tub and just put in a tile shower and re-do the master bathroom shower/tile floor. I don't need these done before our party so we'll just concentrate on what I can get done asap!

Steve and I have a going out goal. We plan to visit as many Breweries in MN as we can this year. We have that Beer Hop passport, buy one get one and we want to check them off. So far, we've only used one. We went to a few breweries that aren't in the book.

I have a nice Monday set up for myself. I don't work till 2pm and only for an hour. This leaves me the entire day to get done with some things like, planks, lift weights, blog, do data entry for our taxes, clean my own house and make dinner. The one thing I am going to do late morning is to go cross country skiing now that we had a fresh 1 to 2" of snow. I think it's enough for the trails to be semi okay to ski. At least that's my plan for today. We will see what I actually get done.

We have a pretty good week planned. I always like to have some fun scheduled.
Today,(Monday) easy work day/Cross country ski
Tuesday- $5 movie, 1917 already paid and reserved our seats
Wednesday - new pub opening in the area, going for happy hour
Thursday ? No plans other then to work in the morning and do some taxes/data entry
Friday - Happy hour some where
Saturday and Sunday ? Might work for a few hours and will plan something to do!

We are suppose to get more snow all week, a little here and there so it will make it possible to ski all week.

Something we haven't done in 8+ years!

We all went sledding! The kids bought Evan a sled for Christmas and part of the gift was to take him sledding. I was going with just to take photos and then go for hot chocolate after. I was afraid to do something to my back and make it even more sore! I went sledding anyway because it looked like so much fun.
