Lax Lake, Fall Colors UpNorth!

Steve and I drove up to the North Shore, by Beaver Bay/ Silver Bay Area to camp for the weekend at Lax Lake.

Friday we set up camp right next to the lake, #14 camp site was perfect. It was at the end of the property near all the pine trees. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. There were two others camping for the weekend on the opposite side of the property. We brought the tent heater and made sure to bring tarps to cover the screen on top of the tent to keep in the heat. It was a good thing because night temperatures dipped to 30*F! We were nice and toasty in our tent.
We did some kayaking on Lax lake. Steve fished and I just paddled around Friday

We love cooking breakfast while camping. We made pancakes, potatoes and eggs both Saturday and Sunday morning. We did grill hot dogs on afternoon down by Lake Superior at the park.

Stopped in at our favorite resort Lutsen by the lake.
Drove up to our summer camping location, and all three sites were filled with hunters. It would have been too cold to stay there since we wouldn't have electricity! Burr!!!

Lake Clara. The fall colors weren't so great. Lots of green and not much else. We pretty much missed the reds of the maple trees once again! Too much rain this fall and the leaves just drop before turning color.

A little fall color on the road to lake Clara.
Stopped for some lunch and a drink by Lake Superior

A little Tuesday happy hour in Minneapolis

We finished up work early in the afternoon and decided to go to Mpls for the afternoon and enjoy the 85*F temperatures! Super windy but really nice outside. We went to Asters by the river and then to another outdoor restaurant for one more drink before walking out to the river.

It was a fun way to spend the afternoon!

Tuesday morning, we went to Lebanon Park, just down the road from our house to run the lakes.
Already signs of fall colors on the path around the lake

We ran 1 mile then walked the last mile. Steve's knees hurt running outdoors so he usually stays with indoor cross ramp running. It was still a nice morning for a walk. I was hoping since it felt so warm outside again this morning, that we could do the same thing again, but nope, thunderstorms this morning!

Snap Chat is my new thing!

I'm starting to like using Snap chat more than anything else these days. I just need to learn to post better video's. It's a learning process.

Saturday morning I had great plans to go to the Mill City Farmer Market in Mpls and do the free yoga then check out the market.  I skipped the yoga because by the time I got there it had started and I just wanted to look around.

I tried this croissant with raspberry filling. It was pretty tasty! I sat and ate it while the people who brought bread (Theme of the weekend), cut up the loafs and then I sampled a few.
It was kind of nice going some where on my own. Getting out of my comfort zone and just going without anyone else. Steve was working, the kids were doing the Rugged maniac so it was just me and myself!

Saturday night we helped celebrate our friends 30th wedding anniversary on a boat cruise.

The happy couple, 30 years!

Dinner boat cruise Stillwater MN. The food, not so great and we once again said never again! lol..

I scored myself a $10 skirt at Kohl's. Good thing it was a nice Sunday and I could still wear it this year.

We went to the St. Paul Farmer market. Flowers were just $5 so I had to buy some.

In the early afternoon, I went for a bike ride, just 9 mile loop and stopped to take this photo of the field of flowers.

Sunday night, we went to the local winery, played cribbage and then had tomatoes (from the market)stuffed with pork and roasted. I set up the tent and slept outside on the deck with Zoey. A nice  day and night to be outside all day and night! I'm sleeping outside one more night to take advantage of the 80 temps because soon enough it will be snowing and we'll be inside for months!
